Nursery

Nursery

The nursery aims provide a fun and creative year of play that provides memorable experiences.

The children’s time within the nursery provides opportunities for them to develop confidence and skills as an individual and as part of a group.  It is an enriched curriculum where the children learn through play.  They are introduced to the Foundation Stage curriculum, which covers six areas of learning.  These areas are:

  • Personal, social and emotional development

  • Communication, language and literacy

  • Mathematical development

  • Physical development

  • Creative development

  • Knowledge and understanding of the world

The activities are planned to meet their individual needs and interests.  Topics, such as ‘Ourselves’ and ‘Animals’, are explored to extend and develop their knowledge and understanding.   During their time in the nursery the children engage in activities in both inside the classroom  and outdoors.
