The children couldn’t wait to get involved, taking part in all sorts of different dances. They really had to find their dancing feet quickly. Children said that the session was…‘Fantastic!’ ‘so much fun’ And they all wanted to do more. The children will continue to practise these dances in their PE lessons where they hope to perfect the different steps and learn to count a bar of 8! We can’t wait until we see them again!
The Cobtree Scottish Dancing Group from Maidstone joined Year 2 pupils at Napier Community Primary and Nursery School for a demonstration and hands on dancing session. This term the year 2 pupils are learning about a topic called Island Life. As part of this topic they will be researching and discovering more about an island near Scotland called the Isle of Coll. To link in with this topic children will be learning a range of Scottish dances. The Cobtree group provided an excellent start to this topic by providing children with an invaluable opportunity to observe these dances first hand.
