This year Creativity Week ran from Monday 21st November to Friday 25th November. The theme was William Shakespeare and the Tudors and the week was a huge success. Years 1 & 2 studied ‘A Midsummer’s Night dream’
Years 3 & 4 studied ‘ Macbeth’
Years 5 & 6 studied ‘Hamlet’

All pupils and teachers commented on how much they enjoyed the workshops, and the opportunity to act out parts in the various plays. Many pupils have returned to their classes and used some of the drama techniques they watched in action. The children also took part in a class competition to design a book cover based on the play they had been learning about. A prize was awarded to the best entry from each class.

It was a difficult choice, so thank-you to everyone for their efforts and hard work.
On Wednesday a Parent-Pupil Art workshop took place. This went very well, and was enjoyed by everyone. The wonderful work produced is currently on display in Site A. Pupils worked with their parents and created models of witches, masks and crowns of various designs. Friday was our dressing up day, and once again many pupils and staff excelled themselves by wearing some brilliant Tudor costumes. Pictures have been taken and have been posted on our website for you to look at. We had lots of kings and queens, knights and court jesters. Well done to everyone for their efforts.
Finally, we would like to say ‘thank-you’ to all of the parents who came in over the course of the week to sit in on their child’s Literacy lesson. I hope you enjoyed yourself and learnt a lot too!!
