Year 4 Overview

Year 4 Overview

In year 4 the pupils have the opportunity to spend a weekend away from home at Swattenden near Cranbrook. They also have weekly swimming sessions at the Blacklion Sports Centre for at least two terms.

Good behaviour and high standards of work are expected with Good Work Assemblies held regularly to celebrate pupils’ achievement across the curriculum. Pupils are able to attend extra Literacy and Numeracy lessons to improve their skills and confidence in these areas. Literacy and Science homework is given every Monday and Numeracy and spelling homework are set every Friday to be completed over the weekend. All children have a contact book and reading book and are encouraged to read regularly at home.

The Curriculum

In Religious Education pupils develop an understanding of the Christian and Sikh religions, with a visit to a local Gurdwara arranged.
